Posillipo(The City of Posillipo, The Municipality of Posillipo) is the second most populous city in the country of Posillipo. As a Global City, Posillipo is a leader in the culture and arts of the country. The city itself is home to more than 700,000 Posillipites and the metro is home to more than 1,000,000.
The downtown, central business districts, and wealthy communities are found on a group of four well planned, man made islands on the north-eastern edge of the main island of Monopoli. The islands are surrounded by long break waters built by the government after the Great Flood of Posillipo. The islands were initially built and planned for when the need arose for more land, due to the fact that the majority of the the main islands are mountainous and very hilly. The original downtown of Posillipo can still be found on the main islands.
