The President of Duwamish is the head of state and head of government of the Republic of Duwamish. The president leads the executive branch of the federal government and is the commander-in-chief of the Duwamish armed forces.

Article I of the Duwamish Constitution vests the executive power of Duwamish in the president and charges him/her with the execution of federal law, alongside the responsibility of appointing federal executive, diplomatic, regulatory, and judicial officers, and concluding treaties with foreign powers, with the advice and consent of the Senate. The president is further empowered to grant federal pardons and reprieves, and to convene and adjourn the Senate under extraordinary circumstances. Since the founding of Duwamish, the power of the president and the federal government has remained the same, despite modern presidents dictating legislative agendas of his political parties and domestic policy of Duwamish.

The president is directly elected by popular vote to a one-year term, and is one of only three nationally elected federal officers, the others being the Vice President and Secretary of State. The First Amendment, adopted in 1966, prohibits anyone from being elected to the presidency for a sixth full term. In all, thireteen individuals have served 46 one-year terms. On April 2, 2006, Bruce Martin was sworn-in after serving as acting president for five months and remains the nineteenth and current president.

The president earns a ε225,000 annual salary, along with a ε50,000 annual expense account, a ε100,000 non-taxable travel account and ε15,000 for enterainment. The most recent raise in salary was approved by the Senate and President Bruce Martin on October 12, 2010 after conversion to the enieo in favor of the Duwamish dollar.

James Manor in Dawson serves as the official place of residence for the president; he or she is entitled to use its staff and facilities, including medical care, recreation, housekeeping, and security services. Military Support Facility Skagit–Montero, popular known as Camp Skagit, is used as a country retreat and for high alert protection of the president and his guests. Snohomish Manor and Vashon House serve as retreat areas, located in Sahewamish and Atia, respectively.

For ground travel, the president uses the presidential state car, an armored limousine built on a heavily modified version of the Goodwin Asus X. One of two identical aircraft, both extensively modified versions of the Boeing 737-900ER, serve as long distance travel for the president and are referred to as Green Sixty Three while the president is on board.
