James Manor from north

James Manor, the president's official residence and center of the administration

Since the Duwamish Constitution went into effect in 1964, there have been thirteen Presidents of the Republic of Duwamish. The president is the head of state and head of government of Duwamish as well as chief of the executive branch and the federal government as a whole. The presidency is the highest political office in Duwamish by influence and recognition, also being commander-in-chief of the Duwamish armed forces. The president is directly elected by popular vote to a one-year term and since the ratification of the First Amendment in 1966, no person may be elected to the office of the president more than five times. Upon death, resignation, or removal from office of an incumbent president, the Vice President assumes the office.
